My 18 year old daughter had to have an MRI scan, and our elderly friend was worried. He too had had one recently. “Warn her that it’s horribly claustrophobic in there,” he said. “And it’s very, very noisy. Quite terrifying really.” I nodded, but made sure that I ‘forgot’ to pass on his warning.
At the hospital, after the scan, my daughter reappeared full of smiles. “Exciting!”, she said, when I asked her what it was like. “It was an experience. The machine made lots of different noises, which was interesting, and I was all strapped in. A bit like on a ride, really.”
It really is all about mindset, isn’t it?
