Hypnosis is believed to be a natural state that you go in and out of every day, probably without even noticing. Have you ever been driving, and suddenly realised that your attention hasn’t been on the road at all for the last few miles, but that you were nevertheless driving the car quite safely?
You were probably in a kind of trance state, in which your subconscious mind was controlling the car. This is similar to hypnosis.
In this kind of relaxed, focused state, it’s relatively easy to access the subconscious mind, and make deep changes to the way you think, feel and behave in a way that is extremely difficult to do by just using your rational conscious brain. If you haven’t been able to sort out the issue by yourself, it’s probably because the issue is coming from your subconscious, rather than your conscious, mind.
